George Twopointoh
George Twopointoh is a master of ceremonies, a brand manager, an actor, a writer, a producer, a teacher, a poet, a rapper, a singer, and an only child. It is perhaps the last of these that explains how he came to wear so many hats. As the Program Director of New Media with the Wondaland Arts Society, George spends his days engaged with the most innovative folks in the industry modeling and developing new ways for people to use their Imaginations. After discovering a love for performance at an early age, George often jokes that he got his first big start impersonating family members and moon walking for his parents’ dinner guests. A graduate of historic Morehouse College, the English major developed and maintained a passion for the craft of acting. As the star of his own one man show,“Any1Man”, George takes pride in his ability to break the fourth wall and engage any audience. Seamlessly transitioning through characters, he deals with six different male reactions to the biblical Adam’s biting of The Apple, via the reconciliation of their very own dreams. In addition to starring in numerous stage shows and musicals, George played a supporting role in the 20th Century Fox blockbuster Drumline.
Most recently, you may have spotted George 2.0 on stage opening up for the inimitable Ms. Janelle Monae. Having toured with Monáe, he was able to land an opportunity to re-write the rap verse on “Tightrope” for the movie Happy Feet Two. Over the past few years, George has honed his skills as an MC, hosting benefits, parties and concerts all over the country and around the world. Known to audiences as “2.0″, he has made several television cameos and produced and starred in a host of webisodes and shorts. With the release of a “sitcom mixtape” of original songs and sketches, called “Turn off the TV” came the development of his “Turn off the TV curriculum” for students of all ages and backgrounds. This February, 2.0 will release a soundtrack EP entitled “My 2 Sense.”
Says George, “The most important thing an artist can provide for an audience is a sort of verisimilitude and a reflection of themselves.”
